Therapy is a journey.
When beginning a journey, we usually feel a sense of comfort or peace when accompanied by someone. My goal at Be Counseling is to be that someone who walks with you through this journey.Therapy is a dedicated space for you to exist in whatever capacity is needed. If you’re seeking out therapy services you’ve likely hit a point in your life where introspection and healing are needed, and growth is desired. There is a level of vulnerability and trust that is required to explore some of the more intimate moments of our lives. In order to do so, our first session is what I like to call a ‘get to know you’ session. It is an opportunity to begin laying the foundation and taking out all the puzzle pieces that make up our lives.
Each therapy session is unique but throughout therapy you will find yourself challenged, encouraged and inquisitive. This is true whether you are seeking out an understanding of past trauma and its impact, healing from attachment wounds that alter your core beliefs, or trying to manage symptoms of anxiety or depression that disrupt the day-to-day. As a team, we will start putting the pieces of the puzzle together to gain awareness and live a life that feels authentic and aligned.

This is such a great question and one that is truly important. Finding a therapist who offers what you need can often feel like dating, which is why I highly encourage you to ask as many questions as you need to understand experience, expertise, relatability, etc. Therapy is a space for you to be. Ensure that you can exist alongside someone who makes you feel seen and heard.
Reading through bios and profiles provides a snapshot but I also know the importance of assessing body language, tonality, and personality. If you still feel uncertain after doing your research, please schedule a 15-minute consultation. It is free and can take place via phone or telehealth.
If we determine that I am not able to meet your needs as a client, I will do my best to assist you in finding someone who will be a better fit.

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and when starting out I would recommend weekly sessions. Weekly sessions allow us to build a safe, trusting relationship, which is so important when engaging in work that requires exploration and reflection. Throughout therapy, we will reassess the needs and make appropriate adjustments. This means that we can switch from weekly sessions to every other week, then monthly and then eventually have sessions on an as-needed basis.

To be determined. Each individual has different needs, a different story and a different level of processing. The beautiful part of this question is that it is entirely up to you and what feels right!

The law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and therapist. There are some instances where I am a mandated reporter and therefore required to disclose information that is shared in session. These instances are outlined in the consent documentation that is filled out prior to your session. We will also discuss in detail the limits of confidentiality in our first session together.

Be Counseling is a private pay practice and does not accept insurance at this time.
Be Counseling is considered an out-of-network (OON) provider. Most insurance companies do cover mental health services for out-of-network (OON) providers, which means I can provide you with a monthly Superbill. A Superbill is a document or itemized receipt of services rendered that can be submitted for possible reimbursement to your insurance company or through additional sites such as Reimbursify.com. I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to verify benefits prior to scheduling.
The Superbill will state how much you have paid out of pocket for services. In addition, the Superbill will include diagnosis codes that your insurance requires to determine potential reimbursement. If this is a concern, I would recommend opting out of utilizing insurance completely.
